Cellular Growth Dynamics Affects Allelopathic Activity in Coffee Cell Culture

چکیده

Cellular growth dynamics and allelopathic activity in coffee cell cultures were examined as follows: First, we compared of seven woody plant calli, Coffea canephora, Derris indica, Ficus carica L., Juniperus conferta, Prunus persica, Punica granatum, Sonneratia ovata, using a modified “sandwich method bioassay” found that callus showed the strongest inhibition to lettuce seedling nearly 90% hypocotyl 96% root. This actively proliferated, with 21-fold increase during five weeks subculture, curve comprising two typical phases: lag phase 0 - 2 culture an exponential 3 5 culture. Allelopathic varied depending on callus. The was detected 1 2-week-old showing 100% inhibitory effect growth. As calli is extremely high, beyond natural level leaves green beans, focused analyzing its aqueous extracts high-performance liquid chromatography. Several prominent peaks, including reference alkaloids, theobromine caffeine, which are known allelochemicals plants, three distinct unknown peaks identified at 270 nm (1 culture). higher value total phenolic content also suggested key biosynthetic pathway relation will be activated phase.

Allelopathic Activity of Coffee Against Cicer arietinum and Triticum aestivum

The present study aimed the evaluation of allelopathic effect of aqueous extract of coffee (Coffea arabica) against germination and radicle growth of Cicer arietinum and Triticum aestivum seeds. The extract at different concentrations was incubated in controlled conditions with the surface sterilized seeds of C. arietinum and T. aestivum and observed periodically for seed germination and radicl...

Seasonal and interannual dynamics of polyphenols in Myriophyllum verticillatum and their allelopathic activity on Anabaena variabilis

In 4 successive years, we investigated the seasonal and interannual variability of the total polyphenolic pool and of the individual polyphenolic compounds in Myriophyllum verticillatum, as well as their allelopathic activity in a small eutrophic lake. We tested whether nutrient availability explained interannual and seasonal changes in the production of polyphenols. There were no strong intera...

Microfluidic Cell Culture Systems for Cellular Analysis

Microfluidic systems have significant implications for the fields of cell biology and cell-based assay as they enable conventional assays to be conducted using an automated and high-throughput approach. Unlike conventional in vitro cell culture methods, microfluidics can provide small and complex structures mimicking the in vivo environment of cells. Recent research has shown that microfluidic ...

How growth affects the fate of cellular metabolites.

Cellular metabolites frequently have more than a single function in the cell. For example they may be sources of energy as well as building blocks for several macromolecules. The relative cellular needs for these different functions depend on environmental and intracellular factors. The intermediary products of phosphorylation of pyruvate by mitochondria, for example, are used for growth, while...

L-Asparaginase Activity in Cell Lysates and Culture Media of Halophilic Bacterial Isolates

The objective of this study was to isolate halophilic bacteria with the ability to produce intracellular or extracellular L-asparaginase. A total number of 120 halophilic bacteria were isolated from 17 different saline habitats of Iran including salt lakes, wetlands, brine springs and deserts. Among these, 68 were able to grow in the presence of 1.5 M NaCl and 52 demonstrated the ability to gro...
